Doha Islamic Finance Conference
Dr. Al-Dereai founded and directs the steering committee of the Doha Islamic Finance Conference, now spanning 12 editions and serving as Vice-Chairman of its Organizing Committee and a member of its Academic Committee. The conference brings together scholars, regulators and industry leaders to explore emerging themes — from Web 3.0 and digital assets to, most recently, agentic AI in Islamic financial institutions.

Dr. Al-Dereai serves on the Board of Trustees of the IFC Doha Award, presented under the patronage of Qatar's Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in collaboration with Bait Al Mashura Finance Consultations. The award honors exceptional achievement in Islamic economics and finance across three categories — Research Excellence, Best Book, and Innovation.
